A flood watch continues tonight for the entire region as the remnants of Hurricane Helene, now stalled over Kentucky, have already dumped as much as five inches of rain.
Portions of southern Illinois, along with the Kentucky counties of Ballard, Carlisle, Graves, Livingston, Marshall and McCracken are under a flood watch and are experiencing minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Heavy rain from thunderstorms have resulted in 3 to 5 inches of rain, and an additional 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area through Saturday.
There's also a wind advisory with gusts of 40 miles per hour possible.
