At Monday’s Fiscal Court meeting, the commissioners agreed to move forward in upgrading 911 communications in McCracken County.
They agreed to pay their half of $67,790 to Federal Communications to begin the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to upgrade the existing 911 system.
Commissioner Eddie Jones, who sits on the 911 Committee, said the current price that has been “batted around” is between $10 and $12 million. He said the difference in cost would be how many new towers need to be installed.
Tomorrow evening the Paducah City Commission will vote to approve their half of the cost to move forward in the RFP process.
