Elevated fire danger today, avoid outdoor burning

Fire danger will be heightened today due to low humidity and gusty winds within a drying fuels environment. 

Avoid outdoor burning. Unattended fires could get out of control quickly today.

Wind gusts up to 35 mph are forecast today.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for portions of the southeast Missouri Ozarks.

Winds will become even stronger on Wednesday, with gusts of 40 to 50 miles per hour, and thunderstorms that could become severe.
