A current Calloway County Detention Center inmate is facing drug charges after being served with a new warrant on Wednesday.

The Calloway County Sheriff's Office said the warrant stated that on March 15, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Radio Road. Deputies said 51-year-old David P. Brown was found to be in possession of illicit drugs. Brown allegedly pulled away and attempted to conceal evidence in his mouth while being taken into custody.

Brown is facing charges that include possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and multiple traffic offenses.
