The first heat advisory of the summer begins this weekend and continues into next week.
The National Weather Service says peak heat index values of 100 to 108 are forecast from Saturday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
The combination of heat and humidity will have a greater than normal impact, especially on those spending a lot of time outdoors and in the sun.
The impact will be greatest on Monday and Tuesday. The heat can affect anyone without adequate cooling and hydration.
Limit your time outdoors and take more frequent breaks. Make sure outdoor pets and livestock have water and shade available.
Isolated rain chances may begin to provide some relief from the heat later next week.
