The explosive demolition of the Old US 60 Cumberland River Bridge at Smithland has been delayed again to November 29 or 30.
The demolition team continues to await the arrival of a crane that will be used to retrieve parts of the truss from the river after the demolition of the bridge.
That pushes the tentative demolition date to the week after Thanksgiving.
A final date will be determined in collaboration with the U.S. Coast Guard, with weather conditions being a final factor. That decision is expected on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
