Colorado woman arrested on drug charges

An early Thursday morning traffic stop leads to the arrest of a Colorado woman.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said around 4:11 am, a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Mayfield. During the investigation for erratic driving, the vehicle was searched.

Investigators discovered crack cocaine and the driver, 63-year-old Kathy A. Copeland, also known as Kathy Kerns of Evans, Colorado was taken into custody.

She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, prescription not in a proper container and traffic violations.  Copeland was taken to an out of county detention facility.
