Cold temps bring water main breaks

Cold temperatures across the area have resulted in a couple of water main breaks in western Kentucky.

One broke along Olive Street in Benton between 6th and 8th Streets. The city warned residents that they might lose water or water pressure while repairs were being made.

The other was reported in Paducah off Old Mayfield Road. Paducah Water had to shut down Old Mayfield between Cornell and Alabama Streets.

The bitterly cold temperatures added a degree of difficulty for teams making repairs.
