Flash flooding has been taking place all over western Kentucky from training rains moving across the area.

A Particularly Dangerous Situation tag was added to the flood warnings in the Mayfield area. Drone footage posted to social media shows water surrounding homes and vehicles stuck in rising waters.

Mayfield has now set an all-time Kentucky record for rainfall in a 24-hour period with nearly 11 inches having fallen since Tuesday.

Also on social media, Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden said that His House Ministries has opened up as a shelter for those needing to escape the rising water.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office shared photos, as well, of a washed-out Johnnie Road and a car that hit the washout.

A reminder that you should never try to drive through water covering the roadway.

Mayfield Police have been restricting travel on East Broadway, South 10th, West College, Wilford, and South 9th Street.
