A Williamson County, Illinois man has pleaded guilty to robbing a St. Louis 7-Eleven last year, and making off with Hot Fries and $134.
Officials said 23-year-old Payton Robert Yates of Carterville pleaded guilty to robbery and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence after he approached the cash register, placed a bag of Hot Fries on the counter, and demanded the cashier empty the register.
He left with the Hot Fries and $134.77.
Yates is scheduled to be sentenced on June 4, with both sides recommending nine years behind bars.
