Two burn bans were issued in southern Illinois this week.
On Friday, a burn ban has been issued effective immediately for Johnson County due to several weeks without significant rain and elevated fire danger levels.
They join adjacent Union County, who issued their ban on Wednesday.
The bans includes all outdoor burning activities, including open flames, burning of trash or debris, and agricultural burning.
A chance for meaningful rain has entered the local forecast for next Thursday, Halloween day.
