Bottled water distribution for the City of Marion will soon be coming to an end.
The city announced Monday that distribution of bottled water will end on September 2. They said several reasons have contributed to a reduced need for bottled water including the current water supply at Old City Lake, the quantity of water provided by the Crittenden-Livingston Water District, and lifting of the citywide boil water advisory.
The city will maintain a substantial supply of bottled water in reserve in case it's needed in the future.
Marion continues to be in a Stage 3 water conservation order. They are asking residents to continue to conserve water by limiting use. Washing cars and filling pools are still prohibited at this time.
