Maple Grove Elementary students will be permanently staying at the Joppa Junior/Senior High School building for the rest of the school year.

The Joppa-Maple Grove school board voted Thursday to permanently keep the students at the Junior/Senior high school building.

The 112 elementary students and their teachers have been attending classes at the high school since August 28.

The move was required after a storm damaged Maple Grove Elementary in late August. Roof damage allowed rain to come into the building which damaged their chiller and caused a mold problem.

Books and supplies in the building could not be moved, so the school district requested donations of childrens books, and set up online shopping lists for supplies.
