Benton man arrested on burglary charge

A man was arrested early Tuesday morning for burglary at a business in Benton.

The Benton Police Department says an officer was dispatched to a burglary in progress at Sydney's Gifts. When the officer arrived, he found and arrested the suspect, 60-year-old Calvin D. Myers, after allegedly finding the stolen items in his bag.

Myers was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, attempted escape, and possession of marijuana. 

He was taken to the Marshall County Jail.
