The Federal Aviation Administration announced Tuesday that Barkley Regional Airport will receive a portion of over $245 million in airport infrastricture grants to modernize airports.
Barkley Regional will receive $379,260 to expand an existing on-airport roadway an additional 6,100 feet to provide a path for aircraft rescue firefighting trucks, airport vehicles, and ground service equipment to operate without entering movement areas.
This is the third year of allocations from bipartisan federal funding. To date, nearly $9 billion has been made available to airports across the country.
