Bardwell man facing DUI charge after Carlisle crash

A two-vehicle crash in Carlisle County on Tuesday led to a DUI charge for a Bardwell man.

Authorities responded to the accident on US Highway 51 North, where they learned Bobby Franklin had collided with a vehicle driven by Josh Coble of Paducah.

The sheriff's office said Franklin was distracted by a cell phone when he left the roadway, overcorrected, and sideswiped Coble's vehicle.

Authorities later said it was determined Franklin was under the influence of alcohol.

He was charged with DUI and taken to the McCracken County jail.
