A sergeant at the Ballard County Jail was arrested and charged with trafficking in hydrocodone.
A joint investigation conducted by Kentucky State Police and the River Counties Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force was opened after a witness told police they saw an in-person transaction allegedly involving drugs at a gas station in Bardwell.
The reported sale took place on April 10th. KSP said surveillance video is said to have shown Robert Scott Hill involved in the transaction while still in uniform.
Investigators said that Hill had finished work at the Ballard County Jail and went to the gas station to make the purchase. After discussing with the Commonwealth Attorney's Office, an arrest warrant was obtained. The Task Force located Hill in the city limits of Wickliffe on his way to work at the jail.
Hill was arrested and reportedly had four guns and additional hydrocodone pills in his possession. He also reportedly admitted to the transaction on April 10th.
Hill was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
