Two western Kentucky drug treatment agencies received a share of $19.8 million awarded to 75 Kentucky organizations to combat the opioid and drug epidemic.
On Tuesday, the state's Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission approved the grant applications in two categories: treatment/recovery and prevention.
Lifeline Recovery Center, which serves eight western Kentucky counties, received over $270,000 to support their pathways to treatment and recovery through a community-based mental health provider and 988 line. Their work includes residential and outpatient treatment and aftercare.
Western Kentucky MH-MR Board, Four Rivers Behavioral Health, which serves nine western Kentucky counties received over $155,000. The funding will be used to help treat individuals over the age of 18 with opioid use disorder, including comorbid polysubstance use or co-occurring mental illness.
Since its creation in 2021 by the General Assembly, the Commission has invested more than $85 million into prevention, treatment and recovery efforts in Kentucky.
