911 landline fees are offially a thing of the past in Paducah and McCracken County.
Paducah's Board of Commissioners Tuesday night amended the city's code of ordiances to abolish the fees.
Last year, the city authorized an interlocal agreement with the county for the provision for emergency 911 services and created the 911 parcel fee that is added to property tax bills.
As part of the agreement, both the city and county agreed to abolish all fees on landlines, which.are used in much smaller numbers with the advent of cellphones.
