A magnitude 2.5 earthquake rattled western McCracken County on Wednesday night.
The United States Geological Survey recorded the tremor at around 11:35 p.m., almost ten miles west of Paducah. The USGS map pinpoints the epicenter along the property line of Barkley Regional Airport in West Paducah.
The USGS said the quake occurred at a depth of 8 miles.
As of noon on Thursday, 40 people had reported that they felt the quake in the local area in Wickliffe, La Center, Metropolis, Paducah and Ledbetter, but also in places like Newburgh and Paoli in Indiana.
