16-year-old charged with assault after fight at Lyon County High School

A 16-year-old student was charged with assault after an altercation at Lyon County High School, last week.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, the school resource officer was called just after 7:30 a.m. last Tuesday in regards to a fight between two students. While teachers tried to break it up, the 16-year-old girl allegedly hit one teacher in the eye. That student was charged with assault.

The student was turned over to a parent and dismissed from school.
