The Christian County Public Schools announced Monday they will not proceed with plans for the early consolidation of Christian County and Hopkinsville High Schools.
This means the two schools programs, athletics or extra curricular programming will not take place before the finished construction of the new Christian County High School is complete in 2026.
In a news release, CCPS superintendant Chris Benzel said the goal until the opening of the new school is to improve academic, athletic and extra curricular opportunties for all students.
