Paducah's city commissioners had their first reading of an ordinance approving an interlocal agreement for provision of emergency 911 services with McCracken County.

Mayor George Bray said the measure was a lot of blood, sweat, tears and pain to get the measure to this point.

A budget amendment was approved in the amount of $670,365 for the city's radios as part of the 911 radio upgrade project.

Commissioners also approved a contract for reconstruction and repaving for the parking lot at Robert Cherry Civic Center in the amount of $133,193.

They approved the purchase of a multi-purpose fire and rescue boat for the Paducah Fire Department in the amount of $697,600.

Commissioners heard comments from business owners and residents from the downtown area concerning noise and trash in the that area.

Mayor George Bray said there were plans to discuss the current noise ordinance in the next meeting, but declined further discussion on comments made by residents and business owners.
