Mayfield Elementary names Trice as new principal

Former Mayfield Elementary School  Assistant Principal Jamie Trice has been chosen as the school's next principal. 

"Stepping into the role of Principal at Mayfield Elementary is so exciting, and feels like I'm coming full circle, returning to where I began as a teacher 20 years ago," said Trice. 

Trice has a decade in administration and comes loaded with experience.  She served as assistant principal of MES from 2015 - 2023.  

In 2023, she moved to Mayfield Middle School as assistant principal.  She says leaving Mayfield Middle School after two years is bittersweet, 

In announcing the selection, Mayfield Independent Superintendent Billy Edwards stated, "I have firm confidence that she will do a wonderful job and MES will continue on a path of excellence."

Trice, who begins her new duties July 1, will succeed Heather Dublin who is moving to the Mayfield Board of Education office to serve as the school district's Supervisor of Instruction.
