The 146th edition of the Fancy Farm Picnic and Political Speaking is shaping up to be quite the celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
The event, this year on August 1st, is also the traditional kickoff to the fall political season, and in this case, the stretch run to the midterm elections.
Political Chairman Steven Elder put out a list on Monday of those invited and those who have accepted. Slated to appear:
Graves County representatives, State Senator Jason Howell and State Representative Kim Holloway
Senator Rand Paul
Senate Candidate Republican Andy Barr
Congressman James Comer and his Democrat challenger John “Drew” Williams
Gubernatorial candidate and current Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman
Attorney General Russell Coleman
Agriculture Commissioner Jonathan Shell
Governor Andy Beshear, Senator Mitch McConnell, Democrat Senate candidate Charles Booker, Secretary of State Michael Adams, Auditor Allison Ball, and Treasurer Mark Metcalf have all been invited, but have not yet responded.
Former University of Kentucky Radio Network Host and Lexington television icon Dave Baker will be this year’s emcee.
