Annual Paducah Police report details 94,000 calls to 911

Along with crime statistics, the just-released 2025 Paducah Police annual report also included some large numbers involving the city and county's 911 system.

Fully half of the nearly 94,000 calls handled by McCracken County's 911 communications services staff last year went to Paducah Police - 47,316 to be precise. But more than 38,000 also went to the McCracken County Sheriff's office.

Of the remaining 8300 calls to 911, the Paducah Fire Department received about 4500; Reidland Fire was called just over 1000 times; and Animal Control was called more than 500 times in 2025.

The remaining calls were directed to Concord Fire; West McCracken Fire; Hendron Fire; Lone Oak Fire; and McCracken Emergency Management.

The 94,000 calls in 2025 was actually a reduction from 2024, when more than 100,000 calls were received by the 911 system.

In addition to emergency dispatching, the communications staff provides critical administrative and law
enforcement support. This includes criminal history requests, open records requests, and data entry to the National Crime Information Center for the county jail, attorneys offices, and local courts.

The 911 staff was the recent beneficiary of the newly-completed 911 Radio Tower Project. The project's ribbon-cutting on June 10 represents a $7.7 million investment by both the city and county to significantly strengthen the reliability and coverage of emergency communications in and around McCracken County.
