Middle school teams will compete February 6 and high school teams will compete February 20 from 8 am until about 3:30 pm on the second floor of Crounse Hall on the UK College of Engineering Campus, 4810 Alben Barkley Drive.

Middle school teams must register no later than Wednesday, Jan. 28 to participate. High school teams must register no later than Wednesday, Feb. 11. Winning middle and high school teams will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. to compete in the DOE National Science Bowl from April 30 to May 4.
DOE’s National Science Bowl is a nationwide academic competition testing students’ knowledge in all areas of science, mathematics, and energy. The fast-paced, question-and-answer format covers a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, energy, and math.
DOE created the National Science Bowl in 1991 to encourage students to excel in mathematics and science, and pursue careers in those fields. Approximately 240,000 students have participated in this event since its inception, making it one of the nation’s largest science competitions.
