During their Thursday meeting, the Murray Board of Education voted to amend the 2020-2021 Murray Independent School District Return to School Plan, and begin Online Instruction for all MISD students on Aug. 24.
The school system says it will continue to monitor and assess the COVID cases in the Murray and Calloway County community on a daily basis.
In the event a decline is seen in COVID cases, a special called meeting will be held to evaluate beginning in-person classes.
The vote to delay on-site learning comes after Governor Andy Beshear issued a recommendation that schools in the state wait until Sept. 28 to resume in-person classes.
