Graves County High School has been named to the bronze level of American high schools by U.S. News and World Report. The 2012 honor is the second time the school has been commended at that level. The magazine is well-known for its annual reports on quality in various high schools and postsecondary institutions in the country.

“At Graves County High School, students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement coursework and exams,” the magazine’s web site says. “The AP participation at Graves County High School is 28 percent.”

Dr. R.B. Mays, the school’s principal, said, “Of course, we are very proud to be recognized in this nationally-known and well-respected annual report on high schools, colleges, and universities. This speaks to the hard work of our students and teachers and to the quality of education available at Graves County High School.”
