North Livingston County Elementary School got a surprise runner this week. Former principal Tad Mott decided to keep his promise by running 24 miles from his home in Calvert City to the school in Burna.

Why? Because the Livingston County school went from "proficient" in the 2014-2015 school year to "distinguished" this past year, scoring 79 out of 100. Mott made a promise to the teachers and students that if they got a distinguished grade, he would make the run.

Mott honored his promise, even though he is now at Central Elementary in Marshall County. That didn't stop him from running about 24 miles from his home in Calvert City to the school in Burna. It's a promise he said he'd keep if the school got a distinguished score.
