Tubby Smith to release memoirs with Kentucky publisher

Former UK basketball coach Tubby Smith plans to publish his memoirs with the University Press of Kentucky in 2025.

During his 31-year career, Smith coached at Kentucky for ten seasons, and won a national championship in 1998. He guided five different schools to the NCAA tournament (Tulsa, Georgia, Kentucky, Minnesota and Texas Tech) and was named a National Coach of the Year three times.

He was the sixth of 17 children.

The memoir will be written with Terence Moore, a sports journalist who spent 25 years with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
