Lyon County baseball took home its first All 'A' State Championship in school history with a tense 3-2 win over defending champion Owensboro Catholic at Daviess County High School on Sunday.

It was the same matchup for the title as last year, with the Aces coming out on top the first time.

The Lyons got to the championship game by edging Walton-Verona 1-0 on Saturday. Then on Sunday morning they knocked off Beechwood 6-2 to climb into the title game.

Five Lyons dominated the all-tournament team: Eli Baker, Brady Belt, Turner Hurst, Korben Lucas, and Peyton Williams. Lucas was also named tournament MVP.

Lyon County (12-4) will return to regular season action Tuesday when they host McCracken County (13-5).
