The Kentucky Wildcats football squad hosts Murray State on Saturday, with both teams looking to end extended losing streaks.
Kentucky (3-6) has lost four in a row since upsetting Ole Miss, including a 28-18 loss at No. 7 Tennessee two weeks ago. After a bye week, the Wildcats need to win out the rest of their schedule to become bowl eligible for a school-record ninth consecutive season.
That’s no easy feat considering No. 3 Texas and No. 22 Louisville follow Saturday's non-conference, in-state matchup.
FCS-level Murray State (1-9) looks to halt a seven-game slide under first-year coach Jody Wright, including last week’s 59-31 loss to Missouri State in Missouri Valley Conference play.
The Racers seek their first win against an SEC opponent in 11 tries. Kentucky is 2-0 all-time in the matchup.
Murray State will wrap up the season with a visit to SIU (3-7) in Carbondale on Nov. 23.
