The Paducah Chiefs split a doubleheader with Madisonville Saturday night at Brooks Stadium.
The Chiefs took the opening game 5-2 thanks to a third inning grand slam hone run by Kyle Hayes.
Joe Peca went five innings and struck out five and allowed just four hits. Jaythan Wilson and Jack McLaury pitched hitless ball the last two innings.
The nightcap was a pitchers duel won by the Miners 2-0. Paducah was held to just four hits in the game.
Connor Priesel had a season-high 10 strikeouts in suffering the pitching loss.
The Chiefs are now 14-9 as they visit Fulton Sunday for a 6 pm game. They'll be back at Brooks Stadium to host Henderson at 6:30.
