Tennessee was hit hardest by power outages due to ice from the 2000-mile-long winter storm that knocked out service from Texas to the Northeast.

According to PowerOutage.com , as of Monday morning Tennessee has 258,000 customers out of service, almost all in a band running through Nashville to the southwest and northeast.

That same band was even more pronounced in Mississippi, with 161,000 outages. The band originated in northern Louisiana with 126,000 more knocked out.

Eastern Texas has 65,000 outages along the Louisiana border.

In Kentucky, twenty counties along the Tennessee border east of Bowling Green have a total of 45,000 out.

The outages extend all the way to the Atlantic coast states. At least 20,000 homes are out of power in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
