Man arrested after gun discharges at Kentucky State Fair

Kentucky State Police said a young woman was taken to the hospital after an accidental shooting at the Kentucky State Fair on Saturday.

KSP said an 18-year-old girl was shot on the midway after a firearm was accidentally discharged by her 19-year-old boyfriend.

Troopers said Amari McClung was carrying a concealed handgun in the waistband of his pants, unsecured. They said the gun became dislodged and as he tried to regain control, it fired a single round, striking his girlfriend in the foot.

She was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.

McClung was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
