Kentucky Kingdom theme park reveals $11M expansion for next year

On Christmas Day, Kentucky Kingdom theme park in Louisville announced a new “family-themed land” scheduled to open next May.

The $11 million expansion will include three new family-friendly rides; 10 "re-themed" rides with a "Kentucky twist"; a new 4800-square-foot playground; and two re-imagined dining locations.

Kentucky Kingdom representatives said next year's improvements are only the start of a two-year, $25 million expansion plan for the park.
