Gov. Andy Beshear provided an update Thursday on severe winter weather that continues to affect much of the commonwealth.
He said the number of fatalities tied to the flooding and freezing temperatures rose to 15 Kentuckians as he reported a death in Livingston County.
The governor also said the state is moving from the emergency search-and-rescue phase into a stabilization phase.
Beshear expressed thank for the efforts of first responders, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky National Guard, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet workers, as well as local police, fire and emergency managers, other states and volunteers.
