Former Gov. Matt Bevin was arrested Thursday by the Bourbon County Sheriff’s Office, according to two dispatchers at the Paris-Bourbon County 911.

Bevin, a Republican who was governor from 2015-2019, was reportedly arrested while playing an extra on the set of a film production there.

The former governor had an active bench warrant against him in Jefferson County, where Family Court Judge Angela Johnson found him in contempt of court for not turning over required financial documents to the court in his divorce and child support case for Jonah Bevin, one of his adopted children.

Glenna Bevin, the former Kentucky first lady, filed for divorce in May 2023. She complied with court orders to submit financial documents, while Matt Bevin did not, leading to Johnson issuing a warrant for his arrest on June 5.

The sheriff’s office did not immediately return a request for comment.

Bevin was booked into Jefferson County Metro Corrections.
