Kentucky has secured $17.8 million dollars in previously pledged federal funds to assist in building electric vehicle charging stations across the Commonwealth.
With this allocation, Kentucky now has nearly $55 million and plans to expand charging stations along priority corridors across the state.
Thus far, 46 charging sites have been awarded with five of those facilities open in eastern Kentucky and three more currently under construction. All sites across the state are expected to be operational by next year.
EV stations planned west of Bowling Green will be in Calvert City, Central City, Dawson Springs, Hopkinsville, Madisonville, Mayfield, Nortonville, Oak Grove and Paducah.
