Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear was reportedly a finalist for the number two spot on the ticket with Vice-President Kamala Harris, but he was not the final pick.

Beshear posted a three-line statement to X saying he was honored to be considered for the position. He offered his congratulations to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on being selected, calling Walz a great friend and a great choice. Beshear pledged his support to Harris and Walz saying he will work to get their ticket elected.

Beshear was one of six who reportedly interviewed with Harris over the weekend, along with Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker.

Beshear did not attend Saturday's Fancy Farm Picnic, but he did get some time with his son as they took in a Savannah Bananas game at Louisville Slugger Field.
