Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear signed three bills into law on Monday.

House Bill 38 increases penalties for repeated violations of emergency protection orders. Now the third violation of an EPO will be a Class D felony if it involves physical force or threat of harm, or if the victim is the same person. Violators will face a maximum prison sentence of up to five years.

Senate Bill 120 requires coaches to report signs of child abuse and neglect, and for those topics to be included in athletics consent forms.

And Senate Bill 169 will allow the subpoena of online and social media records, specifically when those records relate to criminal investigations.

Two of the bipartisan bills passed the legislature unanimously, and the third received only one no vote.
