A dispatcher is dead following an overnight shooting at a southeastern Kentucky 911 center.
Kentucky State Police say the shooting was reported at around 1 a.m. inside of the Bell County 911 Center. Two dispatchers were inside trading firearms when one of the weapons accidentally went off, hitting 23-year-old Kyle Garrett, of Frakes.
Garrett was taken to Pineville Community Health Center where he was later pronounced dead.
The Bell Co. Sheriff's Office says the dispatchers were cousins and best friends who grew up together and "shared the hobby of casual gun trading."
