A massive fire in Obion, Tennessee, early Monday destroyed a 177-year-old building that was recently converted into a restaurant.
The Obion Fire Department responded just after 2 a.m. and found the historic building engulfed in flames.
Twenty-two firefighters battled the blaze, including nearby departments from Hornbeak, Troy, Rives, Kenton and Union City. It took about four hours to bring the fire under control.
Two nearby 18-wheelers and an adjacent building also suffered smoke and fire damage.
The Willow Tree Restaurant opened in 2022 in the circa-1848 building, and displayed some of Obion’s historical items inside.
