Work resumes on Cairo Bridge after winter weather

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet resumed a work zone along the US 51 Ohio River "Cairo" Bridge between Wickliffe and Cairo on Thursday. A temporary traffic signal will be reinstalled.

Work was paused on Feb. 10 in anticipation of back-to-back winter weather events, starting with flooding rains and followed by snow.

KYTC  crews cleared the snow accumulation so work can resume replacing deck railing along the bridge. The project is estimated to last until about March 1.
