Brookport bridge reopened as sunshine, warmer afternoons thaw decking

The Brookport bridge is back open as of Thursday evening.

KYTC plowed and treated the Kentucky approach to the bridge in preparation for the reopening, after the bridge was closed as a safety precaution on Tuesday as freezing precipitation approached.

The bridge's metal decking is prone to freezing over. That will no longer be a factor as temperatures climb into the 20s with sunshine on Friday, all the way to 60 or more next week.
