A weekend welfare check at a Paducah business near I-24 landed a North Carolina man felony charges.

The sheriff's office responded to Power Sports of America at Exit 11 after a woman was apparently kicked out of a vehicle by her husband, 69-year-old Nathaniel Carlisle.

He was said to have possibly been intoxicated.

Carlisle was found parked at Youngbloods RV soon after, asleep behind the wheel with the vehicle running.

Authorities said his wife had been in the vehicle earlier when she realized her husband had been drinking, and nearly crashed their vehicle several times.

According to the sheriff's office, Carlisle showed significant signs of impairment in field sobriety testing.

He was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment, DUI, and driving with an open alcohol container.
