The National Weather Service in Nashville confirmed Thursday through damage reports that last Sunday’s storms created a weak tornado on the north side of Clarksville.

At 9:35 p.m., an EF-0 tornado touched down in a neighborhood south of Cole Park Golf Course. The tornado had 75 mph winds and a path about 200 yards wide. Damage consisted of shingles off the roofs and tree limbs snapped.

The tornado continued east toward Fort Campbell Boulevard, where an overhang at a car wash was blown down. The tornado moved northeast across Clarksville Regional Airport. The tornado uprooted trees on a farm just northeast of the airfield.

The tornado continued northeast, causing additional structural and roof damage to several homes.

The tornado covered a little over 5 miles before dissipating at 9:40 p.m. in an open field near the Tennessee/Kentucky state line.

Later Sunday night, two more tornadoes touched down in middle Tennessee at Columbia and at Lexington.
