Calloway County Fire Rescue and the Calloway County Sheriff's Office were called to that intersection just after 3:30 p.m.. When responders got on the scene, all of the individuals had been able to get out of their heavily damaged vehicles, but airbags had deployed. The two drivers were transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.
Authorities noted that it was the second crash there this week, and that there have been four total since March 1st. Sun glare may have been a contributing factor in difficulty seeing cross traffic. They urged caution for drivers in that area early and late in the day.
