Wanted Benton murder suspect in custody

Kentucky State Police said a man wanted in connection with the murder of Lia Thompson has turned himself in.

State Police said 48-year-old Claude E. Russell turned himself in at the Trigg County Sheriff's Office Friday after they announced they were actively searching for him. 

Police said evidence was presented to the Marshall County Grand Jury on Thursday resulting in an indictment against Russell charging him with murder.

Thompson was found deceased in her home in Benton on March 19.
